Our journey began at Yelu Mountain, where the sunrise painted the sky in hues of orange and pink as we were greeted by the gentle sea breeze. The early risers are rewarded with a view that is both serene and awe-inspiring. From here, we moved to Gulangyu Island, famous for its colorful colonial buildings and vibrant street art.
A visit to the Huandao South Road was next on our list. This road offers some of the best views of the sea along with a myriad of cafes that are perfect for a relaxed afternoon. The locals’ favorite spot, Tianyi Square, provided us with an authentic glimpse into Xiamen’s daily life.

Our exploration wouldn’t be complete without mentioning our stay at the B&B Xiamen – A Hidden Gem. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this boutique hotel offered not only comfort but also breathtaking views of the sea. Of course, no trip would be complete without tasting the local cuisine. We indulged in Xiamen’s famous dish, Pepper Crab at Zhongshan Road No.408 Restaurant and couldn’t get enough of the traditional小吃 at Gong Ying Zhen Dumpling Shop.

As we bid farewell to Xiamen, we were filled with gratitude for the opportunity to experience such a serene and beautiful place. It reminded us that sometimes, the best journeys are those that lead us away from the familiar into the unknown.
